Monthly Archives: October 2015

Setting up

Zig has three nets up and I hope to have all the other nets up by Friday night.  Zig will probably open at the lower site on Friday night, October 30.  I hope to open the upper nets on Saturday night, 31 October.  That’s Halloween, I am told, so there should be untold numbers of owls passing through that night …. we think.  You are welcome to visit us.  Please leave your broomsticks at home.

Owl migration at Highland Retreat – 2015

I am hoping to use this blog site to keep you informed of how things are going at the banding station this fall.  Look here for a summary of results, weather, directions, and other information about the site.  I will especially try to make notes here about the nights that we will (or will NOT be) banding.  If you plan to visit, this is the place to check before you come.

Banding to the north of us has been relatively slow but the results from Ontario and Quebec sound promising for a good banding year.
